A visit to the Beach

Well, there's a ton of beach and fresh water here.

I went to the beach today to look for some small feature moments. I needed the practice at finding little stand alone moments. Sadly the beach is like the most popular place ever for photogs when they're looking for a standalone. Usually it's a last resort, but today was just a warm up thing.

The first is some kids playing in the water around dusk. Dusk is the magic hour for photo. The light is always really great. The same goes for sunrise. Sadly, you have to be awake for sunrise. Something I'm not usually a participant in unless called upon.

The second image, a kite boarder was shot at almost the same spot, but not facing into the sun.

There are a ton of kite boarders around Lake Michigan.

This guy was pretty cool. He is actually from Long Beach, California, but was in Michigan taking care of family.

I really like meeting new people and talking to them about their interests. That's a part of the job that is always really cool.
