A Recap

Well, this is basically a recap of things that have gone on the past few days. I've been pretty busy and haven't had much time to eat and sleep properly let alone update this crazy blog.

A lot of what's been going on lately has been somewhat standard journalism. Lots of things like portraits, sports, speakers, feature hunting.

The last of which is something I want to make a point on. Feature hunting, or more accurately, being able to feature hunt is a really nice thing to be able to do. A photographer that can find moments around him or herself is definitely one to be reckoned with. I am still working on being great at searching for stuff going on or interesting items to shoot. I think really knowing your community is helpful. I mean really knowing the people and the makeup of the city.

It comes with experience I'm sure. That and being mindful to keep an eye out for life.

Rope Training at the fire department. I got to watch firemen hoist a gurney up the side of their building.

This is a giant scraper that digs the ditches that are on each side of a railroad track. The machine runs at something like 5 miles per hour and travels all over the country. Each worker is from a different state. One of which was from Ohio. Ironically, he was the one I photographed the most before I even knew his home.

Kids play at parks. People like kids. Sadly this sort of thing gets shot pretty often. Possibly too often if I had to bet.

This was a neat story. Sadly I just couldn't find an image in the 20 minutes that I had to shoot this assignment. It would be a great story for a slideshow or something, but I don't think it'll be possible.

This little boy had recently lost the use of his legs in a car accident. The dog was also impared and lost the use of it's back legs. Really cute kid and the dog strangely liked me a lot. Kept hanging out next to me. He just stood there.

Well, that's it for now. More later on.

please do a story on the dog and kid. please. it's not everyday you find a dog and kid on wheels from the same accident. I assume the dog was in the car as well from the post. I think it's worth trying.

Actually no, the two had just met that day. The dog had a hereditary disorder that caused him to lose the use of his back legs.
