A few more...

Well, this is another quick updater. Started shooting another festival. I'll be doing that for most of the afternoon today.

Yesterday was a lot of driving on county road/highways. The small towns that we cover are pretty spread out so it can be strange driving 10 minutes or more to get to a game, but it makes sense.

I'm going to try to improve this shot today. There just isn't enough of a human element and I want to make it look better. Not like I won't have time.

This guy on the left had this awesome portable sawmill which is basically a really tough band saw turned on it's side. He was cutting red cedar, one of my favorite woods, and I don't think I've seen cedar this red before. The thing that this guy is sitting on slides back and forth along the log that he cuts. Neat to watch.

Lastly, I aparently missed posting this event that Erin and I shot a while back, even before Applefest. I wanted to put the images up because they're kind of neat looking.

This guy was in the 101st Airborne and I was very tempted to just pick his brain, but didn't really have time. I got to actually meet someone from the 101st! I'm a nerd.

There were a few WWII vehicles on display outside of this historical society building and Erin and I were trying to get some neat shots of them with people in them.

Well, I'm a nut for frames in frames if I can ever find them. I had to wait a little while with my camera in a window to grab this shot of this veteran telling his wife about the transport vehicle that he drove.

This isn't exactly how I'd want to end this post, but I should say something about it. Taking pictures of inanimate objects in the foreground and people in the background is considered to be somewhat of a rookie move. You get an ok shot without having to talk to people. Most photogs starting out are afraid to talk to people and will avoid shooting them directly to save themselves the stress.

Erin and I were talking about it and it's not exactly bad to shoot these shots, but you have to get something better also. This is a detail while the shot above it is more of a dominate image.

You can't be afraid to shoot stuff just because it looks like something that might be in the "newbie" category, but always try to one-up it.

I think it'll be more festival stuff tomorrow since it'll dominate my day today. Along with other stuff.
